but i play pretend
---
we speak in tongues
tongue the truth
taste the truth
roll it, swirl it around
spit it out
say something sweeter
instead
---
our entire language is innuendo
we speak in circles around the truth
word games so we don’t have to admit
what we don’t want to believe
what i am for you, and you for me
say something besides the truth
it’s our only chance to make it out
alive.

love how this one moves, very fluid and rolling in thought and structure.
Love this. Especially the first part; it sounds very pretty and dirty and lyrical at the same time. :)
thanks ladies. it's the result of things i tweeted/tumbled (and then redecorated a little bit) last week and i figured.. hey, why not, let's pretend it's poetry and not random combinations of words
