Sunday Sweats 73

May 16–22

Monday: studio yoga class (75 minutes)
A nice and challenging Kelly class to take away the Monday blues on this SUPER cold, ultra-windy morning. And then the sweetest thing happened: as we filtered out, a woman stopped me to tell me she loves watching me practice and is "inspired" by the way I move and pose in class and she loves being able to look over and follow my lead from pose to pose. I thought that was really sweet of her to say! Of course, our practices are not about performance, and especially not so when I set up in the back corner by the door (on the days where I work the desk so I can be last one in and first one out). But I do take very careful movements and try to be 100% cognizant of every muscle and bone in my body and how/where I place them during my practice, so that was a nice compliment to receive and it kinda made my day.

Tuesday: studio yoga class (75 minutes)
I kind of hate to say this, but I couldn't really bring myself to take Donna's class tonight. She has a very specific and narrow teaching and sequencing style, and honestly, I've been bored by it lately. I know myself well enough to know that when the very thought of a class or a run is exhausting, something's not working. Her class just hasn't been what I've needed lately, especially given that I haven't run in over two weeks and need a more intense and full-body class. So I went to the late class tonight with Amy and got such a good sweat and stretch!

Wednesday: 2.25 mile run (9:00 pace)
FINALLY. I had to really squeeze this one in, but given I've already lost the rest of my week to the wedding, I had to run. So happy I finally left the excuses at the door and got my shoes on. I have a lot of work to do after taking 2.5 weeks off, but nothing hurt (except for my chest after a hill sprint, which I only took to soothe my ego after tripping in front of a car full of shouting boys).

Taught two classes today and only took about 5 minutes for myself to flow, but every little bit counts right?

Thursday: active rest
I subbed for Kelly this morning, so no class for me but at least some movement. From there on out it was wedding wedding wedding madness!

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Wedding stuff, wedding, and recovery!
